Seen by many as what we would call a Supercar nowadays, the car featured a 427 cubic inch alloy V8 and in it, Jane drove to his third ATCC crown in 1971, holding out Allan Moffat's Mustang in a thrilling final at Oran Park. Jane amassed 3 Round wins out of a possible 7, winning Round 3 at Sandown Raceway, Round 5 at Mallala Race Circuit and Round 7 at Oran Park Raceway. Jane finished the 1971 season with at total of 43 points overall, 6 points ahead of Allan Moffat and 7 points ahead of Ian Geoghegan in 3rd place. Fearing a whitewash of the category, CAMS outlawed the huge engine for the following year and even with a 350 cubic inch motor, Jane won for of the eight rounds to take his fourth and final ATCC title.
