Biante Model Cars are very pleased to present the 1:18 Holden VL Commodore SS Group A of the Holden Dealer Team’s 1987 ATCC, driven by Peter Brock.
The 1987 Australian Touring Car Championship was not only stacked with car racing legends such as Brock, Grice, Richards, Seton, Fury, Longhurst, Perkins, Bond and Johnson it was also the world debut of the racing versions of the BMW M3, Ford Sierra RS Cosworth and the Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo. It was also the first ATCC to be sponsored and the series was promoted as the Shell Ultra Australian Touring Car Championship.
The 1987 ATCC the last time Peter Brock would drive a Holden until 1991 after Brock and HDT’s well publicised split from Holden’s factory backing
Our 1:18 Holden VL SS Group A Touring Car models have been produced in die-cast with fully opening parts, which should be welcome news for many die-cast model car collectors. Additionally, the models will have numerous features including, faithfully replicated race interior with roll cage, race seat and harness and highly-detailed fuel system in the opening boot. Under the bonnet is the race-spec Holden V8 engine and turn the model over to view the drop-tank and race exhaust system as well as photo etched parts, beautifully presented detailing and outstanding finishing all round.
