When the covers were pulled off a secret car sitting on a turntable as the centrepiece of Holden’s display at the 1997 Sydney International Motor Show no-one expected the stunning machine they saw – the gorgeous Commodore coupe which had been designed in secrecy, even from Holden’s top executives, by a young designer, Mike Simcoe. This car made headlines and TV news right around Australia. Holden wowed the nation again – just as they had done in 1968 when they unveiled the incredible HK Monaro GTS. Holden’s refusals to turn this concept car into reality were howled down and – the Monaro was reborn! A new Australian supercar for the new millennium! Monaro ran from just 2002 to early 2006 sold in higher numbers in America, exported there as the Pontiac GTO, and also to the Middle East as the Chevrolet Lumina and England as the Vauxhall Monaro. This Bar Runner commemorates the final great chapter in Australian car design- the MILLENIUM MONAROS! All the various models are shown here with the final Limited Edition CV8-Z front and centre. This is a must for all Monaro enthusiasts and makes a great gift. Combine with other Monaro products on this website and still pay just the one low delivery fee for your whole order. This bar runner is made exactly as those used in hospitality establishments: rubber backed to prevent any flow-thru whilst the design area is absorbent on top. It can be a practical addition to any home or garage bar, or a marvellous piece of decoration for any wall. CLICK THE THUMBNAILS BELOW TO SEE LARGER IMAGES OF THIS ITEM |
