The Charger had a very big impact on the Australian car market and it soon came to the attention of the police. It was the VJ model that was specially made for police duty, given the unique 'K' option package. Initially in NSW, unmarked cars were used by the STP (Special Traffic Patrol). By all acounts police drivers were happy with the Charger's excellent performance and relaibility. It was very much a wolf in sheeps clothing.
